How to change age in MultiVersus

Some content in MultiVersus is age-restricted, and there is no direct way to change a player’s age in-game. This game is currently in open beta, so there may be changes before the official release that will affect the way the age changes. However, for those who want to change their age in the open beta and gain access to all content, there is a potential workaround that can help.

After downloading and launching the fighting game for the first time, players will be prompted to enter their age. Once it is entered, it is impossible to change it in the game. The age must be changed manually, but the method to do so will result in the loss of all progress. For players who accidentally set the wrong age, or simply want to change it, it is necessary to erase the saved data so that the age tooltip appears when the MultiVersus Open Beta is restarted.

The age change method only works on PC, so console players cannot change it. When MultiVersus is launched on PC, a prompt will appear regarding the age of the player. The selection starts from the age of up to 10 years and ends at the age of over 22 years. Choosing any age over 18 should provide unrestricted access to the game, but players can choose to be over 22 if they want to make sure they can enjoy all current and future content.

Access to content with age restrictions in MultiVersus

Since an age must be selected when opening the game for the first time, players will have to delete all saved data and start over. After rebooting and relaunching MultiVersus, players will be able to set their age. Unfortunately, the full start of the game is the only way to change the player’s age, but there may be an easier way in future updates. To access everything the game has to offer, the player must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Open File Explorer
  • Click on “View” then uncheck “Hidden Items” so the “App Data” folder is accessible
  • Navigate to local drive “C” and select the desired user
  • Open the “App Data” folder
  • Select the “MultiVersus” folder
  • Open the “Saved” folder
  • In the folder “SaveGames” delete the file “firstlaunch_save.sav”
  • Launch MultiVersus and select the “Greater than 22” option when prompted

Players must be at least 13 years old to play MultiVersus at all, so setting a lower age will make the game unplayable. If the player’s age is set between 13 and 17, they can access offline game content. Those over the age of 18 can access the MultiVersus online multiplayer mode and access all of the game’s content. There are no verification requirements, so you can set any age when you first start the game.
