How to beat Taromaru in a sword duel in Genshin Impact

In Genshin Impact, the Sword Duel is one of the limited-time events in version 2.6, featuring one-on-one sword duels with opponents.

In the Clash of the Lone Blades event, players can choose from three difficulty levels: Serious, Terrible, and Terrible. To unlock Dangerous difficulty, players must defeat their opponent in Dreadful mode in less than 75 seconds. Players will fight with opponents who have different sets of sword techniques and honed techniques. These refined techniques can be checked in the event menu.

In order to receive all possible rewards, players must first complete each challenge in Terrible mode, and then complete it in Dangerous mode. Because Dangerous mode requires players to defeat an opponent within a full 3 minutes rather than 75 seconds, players will find it easier to complete this challenge if they memorize their opponents’ fighting style. Since players will not be able to use elemental explosions or skills in Genshin Impact, it is very important to use the parry mechanism in addition to normal attacks.

How to Defeat Taromaru and Parry Guide

Shiba Inu, the owner of the Komore Tea House, Taromaru, is the final opponent in the Sword Duel event of Genshin Impact. Taromaru’s refined techniques allow him to block all attacks when he is not attacking. Taromaru’s evasive maneuvers include an explosive statue sending out three Electro attacks and slamming his Electro-soaked sword into the ground. These attacks will be highlighted with a growing radius. Players will need to dodge these attacks until Taromaru returns to his normal sword stance.

The parry mechanic in this event is similar to that of the Bei Dou parry, although there is less forgiveness when it comes to parry timing. When Taromaru performs his normal attacks, players will have at least two opportunities to parry. Taromaru’s blade will sparkle brightly, and a sharp sound effect will be heard. Players can use this as a hint to parry.

Players should also keep an eye on Taromaru’s rage meter. When it fills up, the energy will swirl around him and he will perform a ramming attack that can be parried. If the attack is parried perfectly, Taromaru will fall on his back and take increased damage. TarĊmaru’s normal techniques glow white, while his advanced techniques glow blue. Perfectly parried with perfected techniques, players get critical hits on their next attacks, which guarantees victory. The Genshin Impact Sword Duel event will be available until April 25, 2022.
