Guide to Minstrel in Lost Ark

The minstrel is one of the main helpers in Lost Ark – viable in both PvP and PvE. This is the class you choose if you want an almost guaranteed place in the endgame.

In this guide, we’ll take a look at how the class works, including an overview, the best engravings for the class, and a complete list of skills and how they work.

Minstrel class overview

The minstrel is one of the support characters in Lost Ark and is usually chosen as the main support character in both PvE and PvP, although a paladin (and in the future an artist) will also play. This class provides the party with all sorts of buffs, including damage reduction, damage increase, and various other buffs.

Minstrel’s identification skill is Serenade. During combat, you earn Serenade Bars from Striking Abilities, and each Serenade activation consumes one bar. You can accumulate up to three bars at the same time.

There are two types of serenades you can use:

  • Serenade of Courage: Increases attack damage for you and your allies.
  • Serenade of Salvation: Grants healing to allies.

Knowing when to use Serenade’s special songs is essential to mastering the art of the Minstrel. Healing Serenade is usually more useful as it suits your support role more.

  • A specialized support class in the game;
  • Can support his team in both PvE and PvP – the support role is required for some high-level/end-game content, you will be in high demand.

  • Flimsy;
  • Low attack stats, not the best option for those who want to get the most out of heavy hitting/satisfying game combat mechanics.

Best Engravings for Minstrel

We’ll first take a look at two class engravings for the Minstrel. These are unique engravings for the Minstrel and both have a significant impact on your play style.

  • True Courage: Level 3 – Serenade of Courage increases outgoing damage by 20% and increases crit percentage by 10%;
  • Desperate Rescue: When your recovery effect ends, an additional effect is activated, restoring 24% of your maximum HP.

Since you are mainly focused on support with the Song of Courage Minstrel, you should purchase the Desperate Rescue engraving. This will increase the healing effect after the first burst and also give you some stability. Minstrels are flimsy. If you stay alive longer in combat, it will benefit you, and therefore your team.

Other Recommended Engravings for Minstrel

Here are other recommended engravings for the Minstrel. They are different from other popular engravings in the game.

  • Awakening: At level 3, Awakening reduces the duration of the Awakening skill by -50% and has +3 max uses. You will want to use the Awakening skill often along with the Minstrel.
  • Heavy Armor: At level 3, the Heavy Armor gear increases all defense by 150%. This is very useful for the flimsy minstrel.
  • Spirit Absorption: Attack and movement speed is increased by 15%. Movement speed is very useful for the Minstrel to fight off the boss/deal damage.
  • Max Mana Increase: Max Mana increased by 30%. Very useful for Minstrel. You will use abilities almost immediately, so the more MP the better.
