Clans in Frozenheim: everything you need to know

In Frozenheim, it’s up to you to lead your brave group of Norwegians and Norwegians out of the poor beggars and turn them into an unstoppable force – both militarily and socially. One aspect of the game that will help you achieve one (or both) of these goals is the initiation of your people into a specific clan.

Clans offer powerful abilities that can make a big difference in how you play the game. Each clan is focused on a certain element of the game, some are more aggressive while others play on resources. Overcoming the difficulties of Frozenheim requires some understanding of when to use each of the various clans.

What are clans

Clans is a fancy word for Research Trees. Each clan, in fact, opens up the opportunity to invest resources in research. What you can research depends on the clan you choose, and new technologies are unlocked as you progress through the game.

Clans are incredibly powerful and can improve everything from combat, happiness to production. Which clan you use and when is of vital importance. In missions where the focus is on combat, using a deer clan, for example, might not be the best idea.

How to unlock clans

From the very beginning, you have no access to clans. The clans are locked in the Hall of Elders, and the Hall of Elders, in turn, is locked in the manor of your Jarl. To unlock the Hall of Elders, you need to upgrade the Jarl’s Manor to the second level. After that, you can freely join clans.
